The project
The XXII National Conference of the Italian Society of Urbanists (SIU) — held between Matera and Bari — asked for an identity reflecting the four pillars of Agenda 2030: Clarity, Versatility, Resilience and Sustainability.
Logo and wordmark sit on a strict mathematical grid, almost architectural, inspired by the conference structure itself: nine occasions of debate, divided into plenaries, frames and workshops. The Futura family — synonym of modernity and rationalist clarity — anchors the type.
A precise red — recalibrated from Paul Klee's “Fast getroffen” (1928) — meets a wire‑frame illustration of "Despina" from Le Città Invisibili by Italo Calvino: minarets of the Byzantine architectures of Apulia and Lucania, sprouting flexible arms that stretch toward the sky.
I designed the program magazine, the “Cartoline” posters, vertical signage, large roll‑ups, the exhibition wall and the digital channels (Facebook covers, web pages), keeping the same uncompromising grid and red/white contrast offline and online.
